IOCC benefit concert features Pedja and friends

You’ve seen the reels on the news for weeks, but what have you done to help the thousands of families stricken homeless and destitute in the wake of unprecedented tornadoes in Missouri, Oklahoma and Alabama?

Valley musicians have come together to put on a public jam session, which will be held from 7 to 10pm Saturday, June 11 at St. Sava Pavilion, 4436 E. McKinley St. in Phoenix. The concert will benefit International Orthodox Christian Charities’ efforts to relieve the families affected by these devastating storms.

The concert will feature Valley blues musician Pedja, along with other local favorites like Joe Morris, Gigi Dixon and Jennifer Browne, Scott E. Nowak, John Willis, Chris Alcaraz and Ted Belledin.

Pedja is also known as Valley physician Petar Novakovic, M.D. The concert will include classic jazz and blues pieces, as well as selections from Pedja’s new album, “Déjà vu – Pedja vu,” which will be sold at the event. Half of these proceeds will also benefit IOCC.

Tickets will be sold for $15 each. Food and drink will also be sold at the event, so it’s easy to make it a fun evening outing with your family, friends and neighbors.
