Check, give, walk – and prevent child abuse

Working on your taxes today? Kristina Almus, executive director of the West Valley Child Crisis Center, reminds us that you can also help prevent child abuse.

All you have to do is make a donation to the Child Abuse Prevention Fund on your Arizona Income Tax Return. You can contribute on Line 44 on the Form 140 and Line 40 on the Form 140A.

Peoria-based West Valley Child Crisis Center works to end the cycle of family violence through education, prevention programs, and safe placement services to promote healthy family environments for the future of Arizona’s children. Children’s March ON Child Abuse

What are you doing next Saturday? Take a walk and you can also help prevent child abuse.

The second annual Children’s March On Child Abuse takes place Saturday, April 9, at the Phoenix Zoo. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m.; the walk begins at 7:30 a.m. Walkers should meet at the Children’s Entrance at the zoo.

The leisurely, one-mile walk is a great event for families. Individual registration is $40 and children under 12 are $10. All participants are will be issued Children’s March bracelets that will allow them to spend the rest of the day at zoo.
